Applicants can no longer apply for a UK permanent residence document. The deadline to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme was 30th June 2021.
If the applicant has applied on or before 31st December 2020, then the application will be taken into consideration.
To continue living in the UK, the applicant will need another type of permission to stay, such as ‘Settled or Pre-Settled status’ under the EU Settlement Scheme.
For applicants who already have a Permanent Residence document, it is no longer valid now. However, the applicant can still use it at the border to enter the UK if:
The deadline to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme was 30th June 2021 for most people.
However, applicants can still apply if they or their family member were living in the UK by 31st December 2020 and one of the following applies:
If the applicant is joining a family member, they can apply for an EU Settlement Scheme Family Permit to come to the UK, and apply to the EU Settlement Scheme once they arrive in the UK. The applicant may be able to apply to the scheme from outside the UK (refer to the UK government website for more details).
