What are the UK Long-term work visas?

The UK Long-term work visas are those which are valid for a duration of two to five years and can also be extended from within the UK.

They have greater eligibility requirements since they grant the applicant a longer period of leave in the UK, subsequently with the opportunity to seek Permanent Residence i.e. Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK.

UK Skilled Worker visa

Applicants with an offer of a qualified skilled job in the UK from a Home Office-approved sponsor, are eligible for the UK Skilled Worker visa (except British and Irish citizens).
This visa is a route to Settlement in the UK.
The applicant can also be joined by children (under 18 years) and a partner (married/unmarried/same-sex) in the UK.
The applicant must be hired to perform a specific job that complies with a certain skill and wage standards in order to get a UK Skilled Worker visa.

UK Health and Care Worker visa

The UK Health and Care Worker visa is for applicants who are overseas medical professionals, seeking work opportunities in the UK.
These overseas workers can apply to stay in the UK and take up an eligible job with the National Health Service (NHS) UK, or an NHS supplier or in adult social care.
The applicant can bring a partner and children (under 18 years) to the UK as their ‘dependents’.
This visa is a route to Settlement in the UK.

UK International Sportsperson visa

The applicant must be an elite sportsperson or a qualified coach, who’s recognized by a sport’s governing body as being at the highest level of the profession internationally.
The application of a UK International Sportsperson visa must be endorsed by a UK sports governing body.
The applicant’s expertise must make significant developments in the sports industry in the UK.

UK Minister of Religion visa (T2)

The applicant must be offered a job within a faith community (a minister of religion, missionary, or member of a religious order) in the UK.
For a UK Minister of Religion visa (T2), the person needs to be employed by a licensed sponsor to apply to live in the UK and the sponsor checks if the applicant can do the job and if the same qualifies for this visa.
The sponsor provides the applicant with a Certificate of Sponsorship and gives other information (for example, how much the applicant will be paid).

UK Innovator visa

UK Innovator visa is an ideal route for entrepreneurs who have a business/business idea that is Innovative, Viable & Scalable.
They must receive an endorsement from an approved endorsing body in the UK.
It is mandatory to have £50,000 as investments, to fund the set up of the new firm in the UK.

UK Global Talent visa

The UK Global Talent visa replaced the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) visa category in the month of February 2020.
The UK Global Talent visa is for talented and promising professionals in sectors such as Science, Medicine, Humanities, Engineering, Arts, and Technology, who are planning to work in the UK.
This visa leads to settlement in the UK after 3 years if the applicant has been considered a talented candidate, or 5 years if you have been considered a promising candidate.
